A Note from the Director:
In 1988 when I was 40 years old, I directed a play called The Shadow Box for Brentwood Community Theater. Thirty-seven years later, I have dreamed (literally) of directing it again. In fact, I refer to this as my Capstone Project, a final production acknowledging 60+ years of performing in or directing music/theater shows. My own cancer diagnosis makes this project even more significant. The Shadow Box was written by Michael Cristofer and won the Pulitzer Prize in 1977 and the Tony Award for best play the same year. In this dramatic play, three terminal cancer patients dwell in separate cottages on hospital grounds. The three patients and their families have agreed to be a part of a psychological program where they are interviewed by a resident Psychiatrist. (This play is for mature audiences). I hope you can attend one of these three performances: Saturday, January 17 at 2:00 and 7:00; Sunday, January 18 at 2:00.
