About Amanda Moore

Amanda Moore - Education Director

keepin' the light on

Amanda fell in love with theater at the ripe age of 7 and never looked back! Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Amanda's experience as a theater educator and performer spans both coasts. She grew up performing at the Fort Lauderdale Children's Theater and started teaching, choreographing and directing there as a teenager. She went on to earn her BFA in Musical Theater from the University of Central Florida. After earning her degree, she spent several years in New York City performing, working as a teaching artist and managing events at the New York Kids Club.

Amanda and her husband, fellow board member and Discovery Bay native Brian Moore, moved from NYC to the Bay Area in 2015. In her time as a Northern Californian, Amanda has enjoyed performing locally with companies such as Contra Costa Musical Theatre, Bay Area Children's Theater and the former Brentwood Theater Company. Amanda is the current Education Director at Children's Musical Theater San Jose (CMTSJ) and previously worked as the Education Manager for Bay Area Children's Theater from 2015-2018. In 2018, Amanda earned a Shellie award for her performance as Irene in Crazy For You with Brentwood Theater Company and is thrilled to give back to the community that gave her such a special opportunity.

Amanda and Brian currently live in Brentwood with their twin toddler boys. They are thrilled to be on the GTE Board and look forward to getting reacquainted with the wonderful theater community in their own backyard!
